    Our resident chemical expert says: 
    Lo' N Slo is a powdered form of acid commonly used to lower PH and Akalinity in pool water.  Granular acid is generally considered safer and more gentle than liquid acids.  It has no fumes to take your breath away.  Your hands won't sting and burn like the liquids.  You can brush it off your clothes and it won't burn holes through them like liquid will.  I have several grandchildren running around and I would never store anything as dangerous as muriatic acid with the little ones around.
