This product is excellent to clear excessively cloudy water after a rainstorm or a period of time when your pump wasn't running (perhaps while you were away on vacation).

  • Very powerful flocculent
  • Makes water clear and sparkling
  • Settles suspended particles to bottom for removal by vacuum
  • The greater the debris in the water, the faster it works
  • Can be used safely in all pool types

    Our Resident Chemical Expert says:
Do not use this product if you cannot vacuum to waste  (or drain).

In the spring when we are just opening pools there may be a lot of debris in the water.  This is the perfect time to use Powerfloc.  Fill the pool to the top of the skimmer.  With your filter in the "recirculate" mode, pour the Powerfloc into the skimmer at a rate of 8 oz. per 10,000 gallons of water.  Recirculate for 2 hours and then turn the pump off.  Let the water settle 24 hours, then vacuum to waste.  Your water should be clear at this point, with all the debris laying on the bottom.  I always put the hose in my skimmer, running to keep the water level as high as possible, because you lose a lot of water when you vacuum with the filter on the "waste" or "drain" setting.  It's kind of like backwashing only the water doesn't go through the filter.  You may see debris falling out of the water for several days.
