These high density sticks are used only in the skimmer. These sticks are made to be used in skimmers only when the pump isn't running more than 10 hours a day. With BioGuard's Smart Technology, the stick grows an invisible "skin" when the water isn't running over it. So, instead of the chlorine level in your skimmer rising as high as 4000 PPM like other sticks and tabs, it's more like 40 PPM. This keeps the plastic skimmer from getting too brittle and the run off  from the skimmer (that falls down the inside of the pool) from bleaching your liner. Since the skin grows over it, the stick is dissolving at a much slower rate and will last all week. This makes them the perfect product for BioGuard's Once-A-Week Three Step Program. That's a lot of coverage with just one type of product!
