    Our Resident Chemical Expert says:
    Sometimes we try to filter out dust particles and very tiny metal particles that we can't even see.  Our filters can only filter so much from the water and in some cases, we need to enhance the filter, adding to the density of the filter medium.  That product would be Sparkle Up.  You need to be a little cautious when using this products because the pressure builds quite quickly.  As it begins filtering out all those teeny particles in the water the pressure builds even more.  Keep an eye on your pressure gauge and backwash after the pressure goes up 8-10 lbs.  In my sand filter, I only use about 2/3 of what it calls for on the carton.  The pressure doesn't add up that quickly before you have to backwash and it seems to get the dust out of the pool.  It's very important that you backwash the filter within 24 hours of adding the Sparkle Up.
