The new Silk Tabs replace BioGuards older 1" tabs and 3" tabs and uses a revolutionary new Silk Guard technology to achieve the same effectiveness of traditional chlorine, but actually softens the water while removing harmful bacteria. If you try to compare BioGuard Silk Tabs with other brands of chlorine tablets you will find that other types of tabs will sanitize the water and both will help with stabilizing the chlorine levels. That's where the similarities end. Some other brands use glue to hold their product instead of stabilizer. Other tabs are done at this point, where the Silk Tabs have other chemicals in them to help tie up the metals in the water, help clarify the water and make it silky soft. Silk Tabs are not as compressed as the Silk Sticks and are perfect for the floating chlorinators and automatic chlorinators.
