The first, most important step to proper pool care is to keep your pool water in balance. This will ensure that you are getting the most effective use of your pool chemicals. Test daily to ensure that, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, and cyanuric acid (stabilizer) are within the correct levels.

Calcium hardness is an important component to correcting this problem. Low hardness levels leads to corrosion of equipment, fixtures, and pool surfaces.

Recommended dosage: 5 lbs. per 10,000 gallons to raise the hardness approximately 40 ppm.
